    A Special Needs Trust (SNT) is a trust used to preserve the disabled beneficiary’s eligibility for needs-based government benefits such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and/or MediCal. The trust is designed to supplement the beneficiary’s government benefits for needs not covered by the programs. SNT is also used to enhance the beneficiary’s quality of life.
